Groom Attire Trends for 2018

Groom Attire Trends for 2018
The bride’s wedding gown is usually the most talked about aspect at most weddings. but what about the groom’s attire? He also deserves to be in the spotlight on his big day!
Just like every detail for the wedding, grooms have to think about the design, colour and style of their outfit. It is more than just a matter of “putting on a suit”.
See below for some expert tips, along with a little taste of the new trends we will see in 2018!
For an elegant and luxury wedding!!
This past year, we have been seeing a lot of navy blue and lighter gray shades in groom’s suits.  For 2018, black and dark gray suits will be in, with a pop of burgundy, which will remain trendy.

Velvet piping seen on cuffs and collars will give a sense of modernity. Silk fabrics will also be very in, as silk adds more elegance and charm to the overall look.
With the look below, we can guarantee you will stand out in a sea of wedding Instagram photos.

For a rustic theme wedding!!
Tweed is back in the spotlight for the remainder of 2017, and will remaining popular into the cold months of 2018. Tweed is the perfect choice to match with a rustic or vintage style wedding. With the perfect cuts and designs, tweed suits do not have to look like they belong in your grandfather's closet!

The Three Pieces suit is a classic!!
The three-piece suit will never go out of fashion. Exuding elegance and class, the three-piece need not be frowned upon as ‘boring’. Grooms have the option to mix and match colours and textures, giving different styles and looks to their outfits.

He put a ring on your finger! Now what?...

Christmas and New Years are the most popular time of the year to get engaged. So now that you have made it official, it is time to start planning your big day! Figuring out the next steps and knowing where to start can be extremely daunting, therefore, we have compiled some helpful tips to make wedding planning easier:

Step 1: Choose a wedding date

There are many things to consider when choosing your wedding date. Firstly, decide which season you want to get married in. If you and your fiancée are snowbirds, having a winter wedding is beautiful and is much more cost effective. It will also be easier to find the vendors you want, as winter is considered to be off season for weddings. However, if you are expecting a lot of out of town guests, be aware that the weather may affect their travel plans.
Spring and summer are generally the most popular times of the year to get married. Having an outdoor ceremony and taking your photos in a park or by the water are ideal, but keep in mind that you may need to be more flexible with your date, venue and vendors.

Step 2: Think of a budget range

It is important to have a budget range in mind for your wedding. Choose an ideal amount and an absolute maximum amount and you will most likely land somewhere in the middle. Make sure to allot 10-15% of your budget for ‘extras/miscellaneous’ costs, as last minute and unexpected costs often creep up closer to the wedding date.

Step 3: Compile a rough idea of your guest list

You do not need to know exact numbers right away, but it is important to have a rough idea of the amount of guests you will be expecting. Many venues have a certain maximum capacity or some even have a minimum guest or spend guarantee. Make sure to speak with your parents to get a sense of their guest list, as well.

Step 4: Research

Now is the time to start going through your secret stash of wedding magazines. Flag your favourite dress styles, flower types and color combinations. Spend some time online as well and start putting together a Pinterest board. Make sure to take note of things you DO NOT like as well. You do not need to have every detail worked out, but it is very helpful to your wedding planner and your vendors, to have some idea of what you are looking for.

Step 5: Hire a professional wedding planner

Your wedding is the most important day of your life and will most likely be the most money you will ever spend in one night. Therefore, you want to make sure to do it right! Hiring a professional and experienced wedding planner will ensure that your big day is perfect and runs flawlessly. As well, good wedding planners will know the right vendors for your style and budget and will be able to get you the best deals!

Nicky & Arik's Cherry Blossom Wonderland

Nicky & Arik were a match made in heaven. They were born on opposite ends of the world and got together in a very cute way. Arik was moving to Toronto from Australia for work purposes, so his friends decided to put together an account for him on a popular dating website. Nicky was on that website and happen to see this good looking, intelligent Australian guy and messaged him. Needless to say, sparks flew and these two love birds have been inseparable ever since. There cherry blossom wedding was a spectacular sight. Although we love all cherry blossoms, it was so nice to see a different take on it. Most of the time, we see blush pink and white but these blossoms truly did pop within the all white venue space. Check out the photos to see what we mean! You won't regret it!

Love it? Check out these vendors who helped make it happen!

Lesley-Ann and Glen's Elegant Gold & Ivory Wedding

All weddings are special and magical in their own way. They bring a couple's different and unique personalities to life, and it's truly breathtaking to see the beautiful reflections of them infused throughout their wedding, whether it be through the attire they choose to wear, the cake, the foods that they chose to serve, and especially through their décor.

Décor definitely adds to the aesthetic beauty of any wedding, and there are so many ways to personalize your décor so that it speaks for the two of you. What's your favourite colour? Material? Texture? Memory? Think about these magic touches and have them tell your love story at your wedding.

Lesley-Ann and Glen's Toronto wedding captured by Lisa Mark Photography and planned by Fab Fete Event Planning, was the perfect mix of elegance and fun. Held at The Rosewater Restaurant, the affair was an elegant one, infused with stunning gold and ivory details throughout. While the wedding's atmosphere said "posh", the activities said "party". The couple's wedding was a lovely blending of families as each was coming into the marriage with children of their own, and their families were a big part of the festivities. The children took part in everything from being junior members of the bridal party to helping to get the party started on the dance floor. Also adding to the fun but classy atmosphere was Caribbean dancers who escorted the bride and groom into the reception. The couple's elegant gold and ivory theme colours could be seen throughout the entire wedding, from the dazzling, shiny accents on Lesley-Ann's dress, to the stylish gold chiavari chairs that surrounded the tables of the reception space, to the beautiful gold rimmed clear charger plates on the tables. The wedding shined with gold and ivory in all its glory.

Every small detail was carefully planned out by the bride and groom, and their wedding was a magical night, filled with stunning décor, elegant colours, and most importantly, love from family and friends.

Unique Entertainment Ideas

A wedding is a fabulous opportunity for a couple to add a distinctive touch to their special day. Couples are always striving to add something unique to their nuptials, a takeaway memory for guests to remember long after the day comes to an end. An excellent way to incorporate a special aspect of your wedding is through the use of entertainment at your wedding. Couples can tailor their music, visual displays, and other entertainment in unique ways that represents who they are as a couple.

One such idea is to hire a live artist to capture and paint a memorable part of the wedding, such as the ceremony or couple’s first dance. Pieces of your wedding day are depicted on canvas through an array of beautiful watercolours that brings the moment back to life, as you and your loved one look at the painting years down the road. Memories and events of the day are painted as they unfold, and the canvas is presented to the couple on the same day. Once the painting is completed, you will have it to cherish and treasure for years to come. One of the most talented live artists in the industry is Olga Pankova. She is a gifted, prolific artist who can capture the memories and events of the day, in acrylic paint, on any size canvas. Her paintings are true works of art! Visit her facebook page, check her out on Pinterest, or tweet her at @OlgaZArt. Or take a journey through the striking pieces on her website,

Wedding Video Scavenger Hunt
Bring out the inner kid in your guests by setting up a scavenger hunt using your wedding video! Have items from your video hidden and scattered throughout the venue and appoint your bridal party to be the leaders or information guides in the game. Guests will have a thrill looking for special items that the bride and groom cherished as kids. Make sure that there is an awesome prize waiting for the guest who finishes first!

Reception Dance Lessons for the Guests
Another cool way to spice up entertainment at your reception is to hire a dance instructor to teach your guests a fun and simple dance. The dance can be anything you want – not too hard, and not too lengthy though – and you can even tie it in with your ethnic background to make it special and unique for the event. This is a fun way to get everybody to mingle out on the dance floor, and you can be sure that it will make for lots of laughs and great memories.

Spanish Rose Style Shoot

Spanish Rose Style Shoot

Our latest style shoot for Elegant Wedding Magazine, co-produced by Rosanne Farano from the Social Rose, is an absolute beauty! The Spanish Rose theme inspired the red, pink and turquoise colour palette. The gorgeous runner and free-falling florals added a graceful elegance to the ceremony. Furthermore, the stunning head table fused various rustic and vintage elements beautifully. The lace runner, wood chargers, candle holders and vases perfectly blended with the lush and lavish floral arrangements. The delicious churros, sangria and maraca wedding favours complimented the Spanish Rose Theme.

A huge thank you to the wonderful and talented vendors that helped make the style shoot a huge success: So Pretty in Print, Fancy Face Inc., Melanie Rebane Photography, Have A Seat Decor, Detailz Chair Couture, Truffle Cake and Pastry, Tara Fava Jewellery, The Doctor's House, Pearl Bridal House, and Party Glamour Shop.
