Long Curls or Slick Up-Dos: Part Two Long Curls

Here is part two of the Up-Do vs. Down Do wedding hairstyles.  Down Dos are exactly what some brides want to encompass on the day of their wedding. Long beautiful curls full of volume and life. There are so many ways to make curls shine.

We are going to start off with the softer curls. Beach waves if you must. These waves are perfect for any bohemian themed or beach wedding. They are little and elegant and can be accomplished with any hair type.

Next we have the beautiful curls. All by themselves with no added pieces. These curls are stunning and are perfect when framing your face. Perfect for most dresses, but not ideal for a really hot day. Having your hair down can make it too hot during pictures and dancing.

You can also put some pieces up. This can help in the warmer summer months to keep you cool.  It makes for a beautiful hairstyle adding braids and twists.

Another option is to add a few flowers throughout the curls. Having a mix of braids, curls and flowers can make your look unforgettable.

The hairstyle you have on your wedding day is a big decision. This decision should be based on your dress, make up and even your personal style. Hopefully this helps makes that decision easier.

Long Curls or Slick Up-Dos: Part One Up-Dos

When approaching your wedding there are a lot of decisions to make! One of those decisions is what to do with your hair. These days there are so many options but the most common options would be an up-do or let it down. Both styles look beautiful, but it all depends on your hair, dress, and theme! Go look at our last blog post to see how you can even incorporate flower crowns into the mix!

Some Up-Dos to look at are:

The Julianne Hough – This is an up-do that Julianne Hough is wearing a lot! Very loose but elegant and well pinned back

The Lauren Conrad- This look is a bit tighter. The curls are pinned back more and away from her face and than brought back into a low bun

The Braided top knot- Top Knots are all the rage now, not only for weddings but also for casual looks! This beautiful bun with a large braid around it gives some strength to your look., allowing your full face to be seen and admired.

The Crossover- Last but not least we have a newer trend in updos and its all about crossing over that hair! Still with a low bun, the hair stylist brings the other pieces of hair back and forth to get almost a fishtail look just above the bun!

These styles all give your face a beautiful frame while also drawing attention to your hair! These styles work with almost every hair type and work great with high neck dresses or dresses with long sleeves.

The Flower Crown Revolution

Flower Crowns have taken over the wedding world! For all you hipster brides out there, flower crowns are probably something you are interested in! Flower crowns are a beautiful crown made up of different kinds of flowers. Brides wear them, flower girls wear them, even bridesmaids.

Flower Crowns go with any theme, hair colour and skin tone! They are all widely different as they are created with your specific taste in mind! You can make them yourself or you can get a florist to create one for you. If you are all about DIY, try to make one yourself and see if you can create the vision in your head!

Have you considered having your flower girls wear a flower crown? It works well with their title and helps to implement your theme!

So don’t be afraid to use some flower power to enhance your awesome hair! This trend is booming and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon!
